Tips for Successfully Hosting a Virtual Gala Table

1. Set the Stage
   • Connect with your table guests (far and wide) and invite them to join you for the virtual event.
   • Guests must pre-register for a virtual ticket and ensure their bidding number has been assigned (credit cards must be registered). Visit www.kindering.org/auction2020 to learn more.
   • Invite your guests to a virtual happy hour to chat, catch up and watch the live broadcast “together”. We recommend Zoom, Google Hangouts, House Party, or what ever platform works best for your group. 

      

2. Organize Your Technology
   • If possible, we recommend multiple devices for ease of viewing and participating:
     • One (smart tv, laptop) device to watch the live broadcast that will be streamed on YouTube.
     • One (laptop, tablet or smartphone) to use for bidding with the Greater Giving app.You will receive a personal bidding link tied to your bidder number.
     • You may even want a third device to host your virtual viewing party or happy hour!
       
       
3. Plan your Bidding. Preview the auction and get familiar with the Greater Giving Platform.
   • Use your personal bidding link (sent to you via email and text message) to view auction items before they are open for bidding – think of it as virtual window shopping!
     • You can even search for items by name, number, or category.
   • When the auction is open, you will receive an automated reminder text with your bidding link (again).
   • To Bid:
     • Select the item you wish to bid on.
     • You can Bid the next increment or Bid More to increase your chances of winning.The system even has a Max Bid function that will automatically bid in your favor up to the dollar amount you set.
     • If you’re out-bid at any point before the auction closes, you will receive a text message and/or email.
     • To purchase a package at the Buy Now price, select the Buy button.
